Governor Jerry Brown's Executive Order B-10-11 established that all state departments shall adopt a Tribal Consultation Policy. The Department of Consumer Affairs has established a DRAFT Consultation Policy in conformance with its oversight agency, the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency, policy. The Department seeks Tribal government and Tribal community input to improve and strengthen its policy for working with Tribal governments. Please direct any and all comments to Justin Paddock by emailing them to We ask that comments be submitted by Monday, January 12, 2015.

There are three vacancies on the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) 12-member Advisory Committee. 

  • Two (2) Employer Members That Hire Students from Private Postsecondary Institutions
  • One (1) Current or Past Student of a Private Postsecondary Institution

Pursuant to SB 1247 (Lieu), the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education is establishing a Task Force.  This new Task Force will review standards for educational training programs specializing in innovative subject matters to assist students in high-demand technology fields.  The Task Force will submit a report of its recommendations to the BPPE Advisory Committee by January 1, 2016.

Who is eligible to serve on the BPPE Task Force?
Postsecondary education experts, owners of institutions, consumer advocates focused on education, high technology employers, students of short-term focused high technology training programs, and providers of high technology training in subjects including, but not necessarily limited to, programming, software development, computer science, and coding.
